Fruita Festivals

Best of the West!

Voted Best of the West by The Daily Sentinel's readership in 2001, 2002, 2006, 2008 and 2009, the Fruita Fall Festival is the granddaddy of festivals on the Western Slope. The event is celebrated on the last full weekend in September. This festival offers three days of events including a parade, bed race, baking & canning contest, youth pet and talent show, two stages of music and over 170 arts and crafts vendors.

From Mike the Headless Chicken to the Fat Tire Festival, Fruita has an active community, also hosting riverfront concerts, Thursday evening variety shows, a weekly farmer's market, summer rodeos, Halloween Trick or Treat Street and Hometown Christmas and Parade of Lights. There is even a festival celebrating dinosaurs - Dinosaur Days put on by the Museum of Western Colorado.
